Any issues resolved for the 26 model year? (1 Viewer)

The windshield isnt an issue, its nature of the design, ask any G Wagon, Bronco, Jeep Wrangler owner (all vehicles with almost vertical windshields). Now there isnt a backlog on them for replacement but be prepared to replace or repair, ended up getting windshield skin on our 2025 after a needed replacement in 3k short miles, since then its taken some good impacts with the glass still intact thanks to the ppf, its showing wear but I consider it a wear item instead of having to replace another windshield.
How much do these windshield protectors cost? Can it just be PPF-ed?

Its essentially PPF, but you want a product that is designed to handle rain and constant wiper use. The best from my reviews and what my installer uses (we have full front STEK ppf as well) is Windshield Skin, its about $400 on average. Even with the maintenance wipes after about 16k miles ours is showing some wear and I'll replace it probably yearly but beats a new windshield. They are not an end all solution, it will still get impacts and may still chip / crack the glass but ours has done well and there are spots you can see on the skin where it for sure would have resulted in a crack or decent chip to the actual windshield if the ppf didnt take the impact first.

I had a '24 OT+ with 9K miles that had the break squeak and downshift issues. Otherwise no problems; very happy with it. Was on list to get fixed at dealer but got a good offer to trade it for a '26 OT+ which I did in January. Only have about 1K miles but zero issues so far.

I had the same reservations when I put my deposit down two months ago. I joined this forum and watched YouTube videos to learn. There is a great group of people on this site with a whole lot of knowledge and much to be learned here. I finally picked my OT up last Saturday and was specifically looking for these things on my test drive before I signed the paperwork. I took a 15-20 mile drive in various conditions. First thing was to back in reverse while still at the dealership and no break squeal. Camera good as well. I made sure to stop at several lights at different speeds and the down shifting was very smooth, actually not even noticeable. My hood does flutter but it’s very minimal. It doesn’t really bother me at this point.

The only thing I noticed on the test drive is that there sounds/feel like something is loose in the front of the vehicle. It’s only noticeable over larger bumps in the road and it’s intermittent. The service person said it’s common on the OT’s because of the EKSD system and sway bar. I plan on posting here about it to get feedback from others who have much more experience on here than I do mechanically and behind the wheel of the 550’s

In conclusion I absolutely love my GX and it’s so fun to drive. No regrets in my purchase. Sometimes I like to just look at it parked in the garage. It gets a lot of looks as there isn’t a lot of GX’s on the road where I live. Wait till you try out the massage seats. There is so much to learn with all the new technology. Have fun and enjoy, the little things can be adjusted at your dealership.
You should push back on the looseness in the front. I have an OT+ and I think the best thing about the car is how well it is put together with no looseness or noises when driving.

Anyone with fold out running boards feel like the motors give a struggling “churn” noise at the end of their travel on the fold out action, seems like mine may be over torqued (haven’t found a spec for that yet) or need a lil grease somewhere 🤔

I’ve not noticed that. Let us know what you find when you check the torque.

I asked my ppf installer about the windshield protection and he didn’t recommend because he doesn’t think the money is worth it and the “tech” just isn’t there yet. It’s different than ppf but similar. Money for peace of mind may be worth it though and I may regret that decision one day. I’m banking on windshield cracking at some point but who knows when that will be and I don’t want to deal with replacing film constantly after it smudges my view on the daily.

So far, everything that I have had go wrong is because somebody else touched it or ppf related. Can’t trust anyone these days, but the ride itself I’ve really had no issues that make me sweat. I LOVE it! Perfect fit for what I need it to do, and it’s a damn good looking ride.

I’ve got AMP on my truck, not the GX. Think I’d rather have sliders but just don’t want to spend the $$ until the AMP boards die on me. They’re kind of annoying if grit gets in there and they do make noise when fully extending. I like them just don’t think they’re worth the dough in the end. Gotta keep them clean, use silicon wd40 in all the crevices, not just the water expelling kind, to keep it greased. I keep a can in my back door! On long road trips the grit will cause them to retract or stay out and I have to kick them back into alignment.

My shins have also taken quite a beating because I stupidly forget they are there. It’s pure hell when those things nail you, like stubbing your toe. But I do like having them for the most part, just from time to time can get a curse word out of me.

Maybe I’m being too picky or over the top noticing things like this but discovered a new “2026 accessory” when giving my ride its first wash the other day… pitted little rust spots 🥲 will be interesting to see if these little minions grow over time, don’t know if it helps or not but had the painted parts ceramic coated a few weeks after buying (maybe they coated this part maybe not who knows or if it even matters). All along bottom ledge below the rear hatch window, y’all think I should address this somehow or just keep an eye on it?

can you feel with your finger nail if the paint chipped off? It might be just iron contamination that has embedded on the clear coat that can be easily removed with an iron decontamination spray or clay bar.

Running my nail over it I can feel/hear the click of passing over it & it also doesn’t come off if I go back & forth over it. I dont think it got ceramic coated when I had that done as it doesn't have that super smooth feel to it, if they grow I’ll see if I can get just that section repainted under warranty.

Does it feel like it’s on top of the clear coat or does it feel like the paint came off and rust is forming underneath the paint? If it feels like it’s sitting higher than the paint then I think an iron remover spray can easily fix that. Here are some better explanations of what may be going on to your paint.

Thanks for the video links! I definitely feels like it sitting above the clear coat not actually rusted through paint down to metal so I think it's fine... I'm going to look into removal options
