GX550 Aftermarket Wheel & Tire Thread (3 Viewers)

looks good. i have no idea how you are rubbing with 1.2 inch spacer on a 25 and +40 offset. i have a stock 25 OT, +35 methods, 315/7-r17 and i have yet to hear any rubbing. nothing was removed.
Thanks, man. The rub was VERY minor (just barely made contact) on the bottom edge of the front liner, and only from 1/2 to 3/4 lock. Moved the liners 1/2" for good measure, although I probably could've lived with it as-is.

I just test fit a winter wheel to see how many turns I get on the stock bolts, about 6 fully torqued using Rays Formula lugs. I’m going to install the longer bolts when I do my switch over at the end of the month.

Gramlights 57DRX 18x8.5 +52, 265/70R18 Nokian Hakka LT3s.

I trust Nokians more in deeper snow and backroads vs other brands when we road trip to Quebec and the more Northern regions of Ontario. They’re probably overkill for GTA conditions.

Also I know they’re on the wrong side, just grabbed the first wheel from the pile 😀

Whats your set up? I have a 25 OT and looking for tires similar to yours.

I want a matching spare though. I dont mind removing crash bars and a slight trim

I don't think anyone has made a 35" work in the stock spare location. some have fit a 285/75/17 (33.9") spare in there but it hangs down lower than stock)

Hi All Looking at running a 17x8.5 et35 with a 35x12.5 tyre on my westcott lifted GX.
I am getting a lot of conflicting information on if this will rub or not, some say no rub or trim needed, some say it rubs and had to be trimmed. I understand there may be some variation in the brand and type of tyre and roundness of the side wall, maybe this has something to do with it.
I've also seen people comment that a +25 with the same wheel spec also rubs and needed trim. Very confusing. Could someone please provide some insight?

Otherwise may just stick with a 285/70 or 295/70 slightly narrower tyre.

Cheers

This video will give you the answer,
In short, you will need to remove crash bar and do some front trimming to fit your desired tires.

exactly what i mean as per my last comment, some say trimming and cutting required, others say no rub or trimming at all lol. but great that you didn’t need to do anything to make them work! car looks awesome

Shouldn’t rub

Fuel Rebel 6 Matte Bronze wheels 20 x 9 with 20 mm offset, wrapped with BFG AT KO2's in 275/60/20. No other modifications were necessary. Unbelievably happy with the Nori Green/Bronze combination.

LOVE your truck. Do you think the same wheels wrapped with BFG AT KO2's in 275/60/20 and 15 mm (as opposed to. your 20 mm) offset still fit? I am looking at the same tires but with Vossen (Introducing the Vossen HF6-1 Wheel) rims that have a 15 mm offset.

Much appreciated! The wheels and tires just got installed yesterday and this was the only shot I got before I dropped it off to get PPF installed to protect the paint from chips and scratches. I believe the offset and tire size only pushed the tires out about an inch and the fenders on the Overtrails have extra width due to the plastic fender flare. I’ll post some more pics from different angles after I get her back in a couple days!
Never had PPF installed. Is it worth it? Does it damage the paint job? How often does it need to be changed? I drive a lot of highway miles so strongly considering it

Man that looks good…not sure if I can get away with no rubbing (P+ with just front 1.25” level), but if I can, that may be my next tire setup.
