Gx550 lift for smoother road driving. (3 Viewers)

I would highly recommend not going larger than 20" for wheels if you want maximum ride comfort. A good A/T on a 20" wheel feels great on these trucks.

You will never be able to make up for a lack of sidewall with more suspension--the forces still transmit through even if the suspension dampens it.

If it's the twitchy behavior of the stock suspension you are looking to eliminate, I would recommend the Dobinsons Twin Tube Kit. It's affordable, top quality, and legitimately rides better than stock.

the stock suspension is garbage. coilovers amounted to the most for comfort in suspension. even with AVS rode like shit. i have king adjustable shocks.

second was that was detrimental to my ride was bigger tires with higher sidewall stiffness due to higher load ratings etc. i went from stock TOYOs to falken wildpeak AT4W 35/11.5r18 with 40psi and its ok but its not more comfortable than the stock tires.

it rides better than stock and ive adjusted the shocks to more soft

I generally agree with this, and it matches my experience and approach. My 2 cents:
I grew really tired and unhappy with the ‘24 OT AVS setup, so removed it.

Installed an MT64 suspension, big improvement in ride - both highway and around town, with excellent control. Absolutely love it. So relieved to not be constantly twisting the drive mode dial in search of an improved ride.

My E-rated tires I run anywhere from low to mid 30’s for day-to-day, and they are quite comfortable. So my total ride is greatly improved: plus I can still safely air down enough for off roading or air up for trailer towing.

With these changes I feel like I have a “GX from the future”, like it should be. 👏
