Hi!

I used to drive a Mazdaspeed3 til I traded it in for a Honda Pilot 11 years ago after have 2 kids for practicality reasons.

Bought my Gx550 Premium+ almost a year and a half ago and am loving it. So happy to be driving a real car again 😅.

Hi and welcome!

Welcome. A year and a half later and you are still thrilled about ownership. That is the badge of a motor enthusiast. ☺️👍🏽

I’m still excited about my first car - manual drive 1982 Honda Civic DX 1500 - and that was 40 years ago.

Since we’re on the topic any other “first loves” ??

My "first love" was my 2007 Dinan Stage 2 BMW 335i. Best car I've ever owned by a long shot and almost nothing has quite scratched the same itch since! I miss it

My first car proper was a 90s manual Camry that I beat the living crap out of. After that, I owned a Fiesta ST and that thing was the love of my life. I got into a collision and it wasn't ever quite the same, and I'm quite sad about it.

I replaced it with a Camaro SS 1LE, which I still have, that is a killer track car. I argue it drives more like a 2000s BMW than any modern F or G series BMW, but it is just so capable that it's not very fun to drive on the street. Once you're driving quickly enough for it to be exciting, you're in "death and dismemberment" range, and I just don't have the stomach for that anymore.

Funny enough, if I'm looking to scratch a quick itch to drive, I often end up in my partner's Mazda3 hatch; just a few minutes puts a big smile on my face. Mazda has some kind of wizard magic in their factory tuning and I truly believe their Electric Power Steering is better (on the street at least) than anybody else's - Porsche included.
