💸 The 'official' I put my deposit down list... (1 Viewer)

Test drove a GX550 on saturday then decided that I definitely want an Incognito OT. Checked every dealer within two hours from me. Most of the listed ones were pre-sold. Found a couple inbound (OT+ and OT) at one dealership in NJ that the managers would not take a deposit on and were only taking offers until the cars hit the lot. Nicest, most straight-shooting and responsive sales guy, but his hands were tied by greedy managers. I ended up finding another unclaimed incognito OT in NY, landing at port in 2 days. Put a deposit and I am pretty happy I didn't have to suffer from months of waiting (been there done that with other cars).

Heading into port. So close!

how do you track the boat like this?
Your dealer has the vessel information on their computers.. Just ask them the name of the boat its on and google it. It will show up on Vessel Finder or Marine Traffic with real time data.

Still waiting for my OT to be transported to the dealer. It was offloaded on Aug 6 (probably). Last week the delivery window on the dealers listing tightened from 14 day range to a 6 day range next week. Was hoping it would be processed ahead of schedule, but doesn't look like that is happening.

what was your method of finding incoming units that werent sold? Did you just go through a list of lexus dealerships around the country and call them individually? Some tool or website that aggregates?

I just did it the old fashioned way. I wanted an incognito OT so I checked every dealer website in the area (a lot of options in and around NJ) and anyone who had one got a phone call. Most were spoken for. Some dealers just want to sell them to local customers or don't want to sell them at all until they arrive and they can get someone desperate to overpay.

do you mind telling which in NY you went with? I've been going through a similar process but in Texas. Ive been on a list for 13 months now ... Everything around me is spoken for.

Just put my $1K deposit on an OT+ in Indiana. Didn't get my number at dealer but told I was looking at 6 months. Now I feel like a kid that has to check the mailbox every day for his secret decoder ring.

I'll just spend my time reading the forum and looking at pictures of somebody else's car!

Took about 3 weeks from when the ship landed at the port to the day they transported her to the dealer. I picked her up today from Lexus of Manhattan. That is a pretty unique dealership… you drive up to the 4th floor of a building in the city. Love this truck so far after 1 day.
