stock oem OT wheels and tires sl vs lt tires (2 Viewers)

As a matter of fact I do.

Cool. I have a 2.3L MT and like several others on Bronco6G who have the same, I did see an increase in mileage going from 35s to 37s. Most likely from cruising around 300rpm lower and a narrower footprint which possibly contributes to lower rolling friction, Whatever the reason, several of us saw the same results. How is your Bronco configured? On Bronco6G?

I had a manual Bronco on 35s. The orange one is the Raptor that replaced the badlands

Sold that a while ago. And unfortunately it didn’t

That's a shame. My Bronco is a regular trail vehicle that takes quite a beating at times. Great on the interstate though when I take it out of state to do backcountry trails in Idaho and Montana. Not much for a daily driver but it is a useful tool.

Bronco is unbeatable offroad and would have made a fine onroad vehicle had they replaced the dumb multi piece hardtop with gx type welded roof

Having a removable top is nice, but they certainly did a poor job of it. Apparently the new ones are just as bad as the early productions. I do like how modular the vehicle is though, It's been very easy to modify most aspects of it. Trying to decide this winter if I want to upgrade axles or go to portals.

Anyway, didn't mean to derail the thread. I agree that changing tires/wheels, etc. is a crapshoot and you don't really know until you do it. Can be a trial and error thing if you can afford it, otherwise you're stuck with what you got. I went through four sets of tires and three suspensions on the Bronco in the first 50K miles and I'm still not settled.

For our relatively heavy trucks, I'm much more comfortable with a C-rated tire vs. the stock SL rating. Look at how many people are posting about the stock Overtrail tires getting punctures on fire roads.
Yup! Toyo took a great tire, teamed up with Lexus, made it quiet by cheapening it up and while making it thinner only did more harm than good. I got rid of my OEM’s after 3 punctures in under 4k miles. Joke!

When my OEM Toyo tires are ready to be replaced, what is a good more or less stock size using the stock 18" wheels (I'd like to keep it to 33s, but a real 33 not the less than 33 OEM). I have a 2024 OT+ that has had the 2025 OT+ springs swapped in so that it has about 1" more clearance than before. I do some mild off-roading in Moab, Colorado and Texas from time to time.
Thanks
Mark

I was previously using the NITTO TERRA GRAPPLER G3, the SL load version, 275/70R18.

It is available both as an SL (lower weight, extremely highway comfortable and quiet, great handling, lower max tire pressure); and as an E rating (heavier, maybe less highway compliant?, likely tougher and more robust over broken rocks, etc).
Both stated as 33.2”, so ‘true’ 33” size. Maybe get one mounted up on your GX, and place on ground..see if you like the look with your taller springs?

It’s good to have choices!

Thanks, I'll look into those. M.
