Aloha, anyone here running this tire setup on their stock Overtrail suspension with the factory 1" lift?

Hoping to see some pics (on leveled ground) of how it looks, compared to the 2024 Overtrail without the 1" lift, TIA!

So I have 3 imperfect pics for you of how the 275/70R18 size on the OE wheel looks on an unlifted 2024 Overtrail. It made a big improvement in both looks and ride.

Since then I’ve added a 2.5” lift, and 285/70R18 tires on 18x8 +25 wheels.

Appreciate the pics DJ!

I'm more than likely going to pair up the 275/70/18 tires with an aftermarket wheel (rays 18x8, +20).

I already dealt with a bunch of mods, cutting and surgery with my 2018 Tacoma, so for the GX, wanna keep it clean and close to that OEM feel as much as possible lol!

I have a totally stock 2024 OT, and my tires are near end of life. I am planning to stay stock look, but change to the slightly larger 275/70R18 tires.

For others who have made this change - how was the ride quality changed? I see the comment above by DJ that quality was improved - how so? I do a combination of freeway miles (where I appreciate a smooth and quiet ride), as well as offroad (Utah, Southern CA, etc) where I appreciate the confidence in having tires that are not going to puncture, flat-out, or leave me stranded in deep sand.

It looks like fitment is no issue - I would like to hear more about ride quality.

Thanks.

From my experience moving up to the Nitto TG3 SL on my (at the time…) unmodified, unlifted ‘24 was great. I loved that tire. Certainly debatable..but probably would make a better all-around OE tire. Those tires stayed on for about 5, 6 months.

The ride - and all these comments, experiences will likely apply to most 275/70 ATs - was more controlled, more confident, it seemed to corner better, it handled bad spots, dips, potholes much better, it was less “jumpy” and it had more lateral stability. I cruised it quite fast at 85+ or more. Oh..and it did lessen the vibration situation somewhat which made for an improved ride too. It was no noisier than the OE Toyo spec’d by Lexus, meaning still very quiet.
(The Toyo OE AT3 is a degraded, under built version that is not suitable or safe enough for our GXs, IMO)

I did tow with it, never had a flat, did some dirt road and Moab area rocky road exploring. Did cross country high speed trips. Again no issues. It fit just fine, no rubbing, and gave my unlifted ‘24 a much improved look.
If you’re not routinely clambering over large broken rocks, carrying really heavy loads, towing heavy, wide trailers and such..then it’s close to the mythical ‘perfect tire’ for this vehicle, IMO.

I believe there are several other 275/70-18 non-E tires; I don’t recall exactly what and of course didn’t try any others. I’m referring to just AT type tires. So you do have choices too…

That’s a gorgeous pic HikerNeil ! 👍

Thank you DJ for your very detailed reply. I appreciate it. I also spent some time on both Gemini AI and Chat GPT and both agree that for me an SL rated tire is best. I don't tow (I did once, but have no plans for future towing) and my offroading is more sand and not very much rugged sharp rock terrain. If I can get an improvement in freeway ride quality - I would love it.
