Alright guys, so at first, I was set on upgrading to a 275/70/18 tire. But after seeing various rigs of this tire size on the 2025s and up (with factory 1" lift), they start to look on the smaller side, IMO. However, they do look great on the 2024 OTs (without the factory 1" lift).
So now I am torn between going with this or the next size up 285/70/18.
I am keeping the suspension stock, and what to avoid any cutting/modifications to the wheel wells, or add any type of leveling kit.
I see guys running 285/70/18 tires with minimal to no problems, on stock suspension, and even managed to fit one in the spare. I guess the key component here is staying conservative on the wheel width and offset. Thinking of an 18x8, with either a +35 or +20 offset (Rays/Volks forged wheel). Tires would probably either be Toyo AT3 or Nitto Terra G3.
Honestly, my rig won't be a doing any off-roading. I have my 2018 Taco for that. I don't own a GX yet as I am on a wait list in Hawaii, so just doing the homework in the meantime.
I understand that MPG's will tank, but that's not a dealbreaker since this won't be my daily. So at the end of the day, I am going for looks obviously, but definitely still want it to be functional (OEM + feel).
Is there anyone running a 285/70/18 setup on a 25 or 26 Overtrail (stock suspension)? If so, what's the rim specs you're running, and are you still able to achieve full-lock steering? Did acceleration and braking performance suffer?
Pics would be awesome as well!
Thanks in advance!
