Cross Bars

Hi All,

I am new to Lexus and GX 550. I have a Luxury Plus on order - but it is coming with the cross bars. The dealer claims they cannot be removed. Is that true?

he probably means that he cannot remove them from the build and you will have to pay for them. LOL

They can definitely be removed from the vehicle once you get it. Make sure the extra rail caps (Qty. 4) for after you remove the crossbar, are in the glove box or the trunk when you do your inspection

Ok great! I saw the roof rack can be removed - but didn't know on the cross bars.

I'm "fine" with paying for them as long as they can be removed.

So both the roof rack and cross bars can be removed?

yes, The rack and cross bars use the same mounting points.

I just put a deposit on the premium + and was told it would come with cross bars. But they could not tell me what the total height would be with them. I have a standard 7ft garage door and am concerned with them it will not fit in the garage.

It should fit if the garage fits 7 ft clear(ie the garage door doesn’t eat into that height). I have the wescott lift and 33’s with the FE Landcruiser roof rack and I am at 79” to the top of the rack

Interested in the luxury cross bars if anyone here decides to sell them

Hello! I picked up the GX yesterday!

Does anyone have advice on how to remove the cross bar caps? The directions show that you can do it with your hands, but I didn't have any luck.
