GX550 30 Day Stop Sale?

What/who/where do you propose?

I’m done sitting on the sidelines, having to call or text the service rep for a measly update that is always: “we’ll know more next week but it’s looking like next month”.

I’m soooooo tired of hearing next month!!!

Listen do you think I was born yesterday given that you might think so I have no news some have called and were referred back to the dealer some couldn’t get through the web sire it’s now 21st century don’t you want why your vehicle is being held so you can make a decision on what you want to do don’t you believe your owed that question did they tell you you vehicle is ready for you and they have your best interest at heart how long have you been waiting we are owed an explanation not speculation !!!!

I have also been steadfast from day one that Toyota/Lexus needs to be transparent and make an official statement on why the QC hold of so many units, GX and LC.

Coming clean on the potential issue and Friday updates are two totally different things. Lexus is updating the status of each and every unit separately on Fridays. Some are in production, some are in transit, some on 56 day hold with no ETA, etc. This status will be updated on Fridays.

If you’re expecting a clear explanation of the QC hold issue on any given Friday at noon it’s not going to happen. That’s not purpose of Friday status updates.

Again, I completely agree Lexus/Toyota needs to be transparent with this large QC hold so folks can make an educated decision. They need to make a statement.

Go to your dealer and ask them to pull your vehicle up on the computer and you will see the current status.

For what it is worth, I talked with Lexus Brand Engagement this morning, and they said that there was no type of 30 -56 day hold on the Gx550 that they could confirm. Not sure if I believe that or not!

I been told that by my salesman that my Gx550 Luxury + is being built and that I should see it in about 4 weeks or so. Not sure if I believe that or not!

I did have to put a nice size deposit down on this vehicle.

. They know about it and don’t want the calls. The calls do go up the chain from the the Brand Engagement Center. The more thy get the harder it is for Toyota to hide their head in the sand.

Ha! Their own system says QC "Hold" and "56 days". The shadiness of Lexus, and not so much my specific dealership is whats really starting to p!55 me off.

I called the Lexus Brand Engagement phone line, and they also said that this is the first they’re hearing about the QC hold, which I doubt. They also said the dealership probably knows more than them regarding the hold lol. It’s like playing phone tag between the dealership and Lexus engagement center.

I just heard from my dealer this afternoon that my OT+ is headed here (build date 6/6, ETA July), I asked if there was a hold and he said there was not one currently on mine, but there has been on earlier builds. Here's hoping that mine doesn't get stuck too and the ones currently in hold get released soon.

I have a friend who strongly suggested I sell my GX premium plus because of a recent article about the difficulty someone had trading in an older Tundra. I mentioned the time frame for the recall did not include my build date or model and I have a 6 year 70K warranty. He was in a panic about how the recall would affect all models with the twin turbo V6 impacting their sales/trade-in value. This is Lexus and I have confidence it will be resolved and so far GX’s have not been included. After taking ownership I am so pleased with the upgraded model and there isn’t any other SUV that interests me. The Defender comes close however reliability is a known factor… so no way am I willing to part ways with my GX
