GX550 Real World MPG (6 Viewers)

Took the stock gx OT on the freeway for a 40 mile loop. Going 65mph , 29.7 on the way there and 22 coming back . That’s 26mpg combined. As for city driving on I’m getting 2 mpg less compared to stock lc, averaging 15
I live on high elevation and driving to work is a 6 mile route with many lights , going down to work I get 19-24mpg and the drive back 12-15 depending on how many red lights I encounter with total city average around 16 . I’d say my numbers are on par with motor trend 75mph test which returned 21mpg
What mode do you drive in?
 
Stock premium + w/ OEm roof Rack

Semi Flat roads 55 miles @ 70 mph - 24.1 mpg
Going back 55 miles @ 70 mph - 20.1 mpg.

Noticed that once you go above 70mph, your mpg tank a lot.
 
Cruising at 65mph.
Stock premium plus with OEM roof rack.

just got a rx as the loaner with the 4cyl. on the same route to work and back which i get 20-22 and 13.5 to 14.5, the RX gets 23.5 and 17. i guess asking for more from such a big car is unrealistic
 
Just filled up last night and the miles to empty indicator said 448. I am still getting almost 500 miles per tank.
 
18.3 average on a 2024 OT+ w stock set up over 6,000mi.

It’s doing 0.5 mpg better than my 2025 Land Cruiser 1958 hybrid 4
is your 1958 stock? i find it hard to believe that gx has a better gas mileage than the lc in stock form. in my case lc is 2-3mpg better in city
 
P+ and now averaging 20 to 21 consistently. Close to 8k miles and MPG has improved over the last 2k miles. Have see up to 24 on a long road trip. and I do not drive slowly.
 
About 70/80 lbs more total. Shouldn’t make that much difference. I think it’s probably more skewed by tire size calibration being off than weight.
Your new tires weigh 60lb
The old tires were 35 pounds . The additional 25 on each corner is unsprung weight . Total 100 pounds of unsprung weight is equal to 300-400 lb of additional static weight and that doesn’t take the bigger size of the tire into account
