Tried installing this today and was not able to get the covers to snap together without the gap. Read through all the instructions on this thread however still no luck. It was pretty frustrating after hours attempting and decided I’m just going to return this camera instead.

When putting back the original cover it took under a minute. Oh well, at least I got a good shoulder workout trying.

its so uncomfortable keeping your arms and back in the position. I just did mine yesterday took about an hour. when both pieces are basically in, pull the big piece on each end out alittle(where the hinges meet) and the smaller piece will snap into place as you push it in gently.

Exactly just takes some time. You have to really see how it should go but it will go.

I know! The Lexus engineers knew what they were doing, that's for sure.

The FITCAMX guys bungled the design, and instructions, for installation BUT once it's in, it's a great system. It looks way better than the OEM Lexus option, or any of those cameras on pegs, and it seems OEM in appearance. I'm glad I stuck with the install long enough to get it in properly. Camera and video quality are excellent.

I'm thinking now about installing the power cord so the camera has parking mode, but that means taking the case apart, again...

Can you share the parts you used and procedure you followed to get such a clean install through the trim for the rear camera? I'm honestly afraid I'm going to mess it up without more details.
