Peak Suspension Spacer Lift - Opinions (1 Viewer)

I did...they were able to bring it back to spec
Me again, sorry :(: I ordered the Peak lift kit for just the front. Local off road shop never heard of Peak...and then $600 to do the install and do the alignment. Does that sound a bit pricy to you? And would you trust someone other than Lexus to do an alignment (they do seem to do everything and have a good reputation)? My local Lexus dealer will not do modifications to the suspension :(. Thanks for your help again.

The Westcott system looks and seems great. I decided to go with a different option. My Phoenix Lexus dealer recommended going with the rear "AirLift" kit. It was just installed. We will be going to CO so I will post the results and pictures. The whole system installed was $300 through the dealer (1.25 labor hours) plus kit

An Alignment is an alignment. All the components are the same. You're perfectly fine going to someone other than a Lexus dealership for that. Alignments can cost a few hundred tops. Spacer installs are pretty easy, maybe an hour for each side, and if you figure shop labor costs at $140 an hr, that would be about $300 for the spacer install, and then maybe $150 for the alignment. So $600 is little on the steep side. Honestly, they might just be seeing the GX, and thinking you can afford more...?

I think that you are correct on the GX thing, combined with I do not know what I am talking about, didnt help! Thanks for your help!

After a year of running the Westcott Lift on my 2024 Overtrail, I’ve decided to remove it. I’ve gone through three sets of tires, multiple alignments, and countless tire pressure adjustments trying to smooth out the jittery ride. Unfortunately, it still crashes over city bumps and feels rough on the highway. While I love the way it looks, the daily discomfort has worn me down. I’m switching to a simpler spacer setup instead. Westcott has been helpful throughout and did acknowledge that my experience isn’t uncommon with this lift.

Wow! Not like my experience at all. What's Westcott's explanation for why this is happening to your truck?

They are sort of vague about it, just agreeing it changes the factory ride and to expect it to be firmer, etc. I live in the middle of Dallas where roads are bumpy, so it amplifies the jittery ride. I can't drive in Normal mode at all.

Sorry to hear that and I hope you can resolve the issues with your new lift. My issue is that it is not a good fit if you plan to do some serious off-roading. I'm getting more addicted to the off-road handling of my truck and think i need a more fitting suspension lift. Good luck

Have you removed the lift and did it smoothen out your jittery ride?

The jittery harsh feeling is not caused by the lift per se as the springs are not progressive . What’s maybe possible is the AVS shocks are now operating at a different bias point in the travel than the stock setup and computer maybe compensating .

On passive setups such as gx premium the jittery feeling is due to reducing the down travel by 2.5 inch’s . With only 1 or 2 inches left , the truck will go airborne much more frequently which causes the jittery feeling upon landing

I am running a Peak 1.25" spacer on the front only of my OT+. I would not describe the ride quality as jittery - more bumpy and washboard-ish.

Of course, I would describe the ride quality as near the same without the spacer as well. Slightly worse with the
offset wheels and suspension mods - but not by much.

Just picked mine up this morning from the dealer for road force balancing and alignment after I added the spacers and factory Tacoma TRD Pro +20mm offset wheels on stock Toyo tires..

These GX's ride like trucks on Americas rough, very poorly maintained roads. Sometimes I think we would be
better off going back to gravel. Not sure which is worse, the cracked up concrete or the bombed out asphalt.
