Power Running Boards

Now that the steps from ebay have been in use for several months is everyone still happy with them. They holding up to the usage. Ready to make the plunge but wanted to make sure they are holding up to the usage. Thanks

They operate reliably and well and the drop is the perfect height.
The only minor complaints I have is the (non-visible)steel mounting brackets powdercoat under the vehicle are developing surface rust (we did have a salty winter here). Not a dealbreaker. Also, depending on the weather, I might on occasion get a slight creaking sound on one of them when it deploys or retracts. Also, not a dealbreaker and may be fixed with adjustment and lubrication. I did have to go back a couple of times on the OT+ compressor model to adjust the clearance so the compressor mounting bolt does not interfere and cause noise on bumps.

I've had them on for a couple months now. It operates flawlessly. I haven't had an issue with it opening and closing. I love how it has the additional trim that lines up the step to the body so it looks seamless to the body.

That said, I recently noticed a rumble sound while driving over bumps, shallow potholes, cracks along pavement. Its so noticeable when driving, i thought i had a faulty strut and the rebound of the springs was causing a knock. I checked for leaks, and all the nuts and bolts under the vehicle but nothing was loose. I finally took off the power running board and the sound stopped.

I first thought it might be the metal trim either bouncing against the body or the trim was hitting the running board so I took that off first, but the sound persisted. I finally took off the running board and arms leaving the mounting brackets and the noise stopped.

I inspected the arms and noticed that the arms without the motor had almost a 1mm gap in the hinges which created a lot of play between the two metal segments. I believe the play is what's causing all the noice.

hope people find this helpful. Im going to reach out to the sell to see if mine is fault, though both sides have the same amount of play.

I noticed the noise for quite a while and then it went away after taking through some deep mud…
Maybe try that? It can’t squeak and rattle as much if it’s packed full of clay

Are the little lights under the rear doors attached to the factory steps on an OT model? Do you have to remove them when installing the power running boards?

Hello, I about to install similar steps. Do you have any photos or advice of the adjustments for the clearance on the GX with the compressor model?

Circling back. Finished the install of the eBay Vroomify power steps: https://www.ebay.com/itm/318618318320?var&stype=1&widget_ver=artemis&media=EMAIL. Special thanks to @vdelgadillo1 for his guidance and tips. Here is my input on the setup. The parts are high quality and sturdy. The steps are very quiet and operate flawlessly. They must have made several adjustments and improvements, as my kit didn't require any alterations because of the compressor underneath the OT+. The downside is that the instructions are practically worthless, but the kit is easy enough to feel your way through to install. The mounting and ground-wiring instructions leave a lot to be desired. Contrary to their instructions, I had to ground it to the center console metal instead of the side of the fuse block. Also, I followed @vdelgadillo1's advice and used additional washers to move the step motors down a little to help line up the gaps. It fits flush, and we no longer have the annoying, awkward factory step to worry about. The kit cost was reasonable, and the install took me most of the day.
