We just cancelled our prepaid service plan (within 30 days so 100% was refunded) The GX is my wifes car and she barely does 5k miles a year. The plan would have expired before we hit any of the major milestones and should be cheaper paying for the services out of pocket.

Are you not ignoring one-half of the "12 Months or 10,000 Miles" proposition in this? You'll hit the 12 month milestone no matter what the mileage is.

There's a lot of ways to say it, in my case it goes back to a lifetime of work in heavy industry and it summarizes as: If you don't pick the date and time for maintenance then the equipment will pick it for you.
