Range - How Much Gas is "Usable"

I’ve posted similar before, but I’m doing this now once the Range Remaining hits zero and I’m not exactly sure where / how far the next gas station is (like, on a road trip..):

• I reset one of the trip meters to zero
• I slow my speed down
• I change Drive Mode to Eco
• I assume 45 miles max remaining to dry (3 x 15). (I have one time gone like 16 or 18 miles past 0 remaining)

If I’m in the boonies or towing, I have my Wavian 5 gal can onboard as a backup. And I’m really, really careful - paranoid - while towing!
Yes, I’m signed up for the LRA tank.

With the high tech displays they now have wouldn't it have been nice for Lexus to show actual gas volume consumed and "usable gallons (or liters) remaining" in addition to "miles remaining" so you could drive accordingly?

I'm waiting for Long Range America to release the auxiliary tank for the GX which probably won't be out until early 2026. Getting mid 288 miles of range on my best week is annoying.

I already have window panels with 3 gal Rotopax on each side. Rotopax containers are a pain to fill and discharge. Just prefer a simpler solution but will obviously be more expensive.

Agree. There should be "usable" reserve. If the manual notes 3.1 gallons of reserve you just need to consider you avg MPG for how far you can go before having to walk.
I don't usually go to to zero, but certainly wouldn't expect it to have any issues getting to a local station to fill up one the light came on.
