I believe the oil level indicator/sensor is reasonably accurate. Lexus would not give the vehicle the capability to read level then screw up and make it unreliable - that would be a lawsuit should the engine go dry and the level sensor indicate half full.The engine has an oil level sensor. I wouldn't rely on it though, because it may only warn when you have critically low oil. It's likely not designed to give granular oil level information and seems to only be used as an on/off switch for the low oil warning light.
