Looking at wheel options for for 25' GX Overtrail and before considering a wheel that requires more clearance I was curious if the Westcott Preload Collar Lift Kit changes the ride quality at all? I drive 99% on the road and I love the way the truck rides now, I am very happy with it and do not want to sacrifice the ride quality for bigger wheels. For those of you who have this kit installed, what do you think? Ride stay the same as stock? Get better? Worse?

if the springs are not progressive, which i doubt they are, a preload collar does not change the ride. it does however go airborn much sooner as you are left with 1 inch of down travel.

I have the Wescott on a 24 Overtrail, installed about 6 months ago. My experience is that the ride is a bit stiffer, road imperfections such as potholes, speedbumps, and expansion joints at bridges get translated to the driver seat more than before than the lift. No change in cornering and stability. I recently added BFG KO3's (E load) in size 275 on stock rims. That further increases the stiffness and road feel. Need to play around the tire pressure. The combo gave the extra clearance I needed for an old logging road I use to get to a remote camp. The lift itself did not change MPG, but going to the heavier tires resulted in about 30 miles or so drop per tank on the highway, maybe a 1.5 mpg decrease.
