FOG and Turning LED upgrades- (1 Viewer)

No need to remove the wheels but it’s easiest if you turn the wheels to the side you are working on so you can move wheel liner out of the way.

If you are also changing the turn light, it’s best to remove that first then the fog light and then install in reverse order. The turn light harness gets in the way of the fog light.

I'm looking to upgrade the fog & turning lights on my "25 OT. I see HYUGA has plug and play for both the fogs and turning lights that some have installed. Those who installed, how are they performing and do you recommend? Or are there other/better light options?

The lights are fantastic - easy to install. Would fully recommend -

I went with Yellow + Yellow. The turning lights only come on when you make a very sharp turn, typically at slow speed, so it probably doesn't matter a lot which color you choose. They also fade in and fade out so its not distracting when they come on. Frankly, they are not very useful. I am thinking about modding them so they are always on when the fogs are on.

Also, I went with the IPF brand because I thought they would be made in Japan, but it turns out they are made in China.

I love them…especially on foggy mornings.

Turn signal doesn’t trigger cornering light? Don’t have my GX yet so just asking.

I also purchased yellow IPF for fogs thinking Japan made, as I remember the brand from 90s when PIAAs were hot. Guess ill get the Hyuga for the turns..prob go white.

Yes, corning lamps also illuminate when in reverse or wheel is turned (headlights on)

I haven't tested the turn signal yet but will give it a try. I have only seen them come on when the steering wheel is turned past a certain point. I drive the canyons near my house regularly and cannot get them to turn on during regular driving. They only come on for very sharp and slow-speed turns like at a traffic light or into a driveway.
Think im gonna go rogue and do yellow in for the cornering lamps only.

If you figure out how to modify so they are always on even with hi beams….do a write up!

I was planning to use the fogs to trigger a relay that would power the cornering lights. Keeping them all on with the high beams would be tricky but something we might be able to figure out.

wonder how difficult it would be to connect the fogs, and turning lights, to one of the Aux switches that the '25 OT has. I too would like to have the fogs dedicated on and not go auto off when high beams activate.

I think that might be the cleanest solution. Its dead easy to wire things up to the Aux buttons because they are mostly pre-wired. Of course, you would lose functionality of the fog switch on the stalk along with any auto on/off functionality, but it would make the fogs and cornering lights way more useful by giving you control of them independent from the mains and high beams. We could also order up the connectors from China and make our own harnesses to avoid cutting or splicing the factory wiring (my preferred approach).

There are some assumptions I am making worth calling out:
  • The fogs and corners operate on a standard 12v. Have not verified yet. Easy workaround if not, but adds more expense and complexity.
  • No errors are thrown if the stock connectors are disconnected from the fogs and corners. This one is unlikely.

HAHA. Throwback! I installed PIAA's on the wife's '90 Integra back in the day (lots of fog in the San Joaquin Valley (her commute route) in the winter at times). The PIAA's were awesome.

Are these IPF or HYUGA?
I just installed the HYUGA fogs and turning lights on my '25 OT. It was easier than changing bulbs on some of my other vehicles, took about 15 minutes. Other posts cover the process and show how these are much brighter than OEM. But I wanted to share something had not seen before on this Forum, as when I ordered them I saw they have an option for dual lights, white and yellow. I bought the dual white/yellow for the fogs, and the white for the cornering lights. When installed the default setting for the dual lights is white on. To change to yellow you can simply flash your high beams, or toggle the headlights on and off. It's easier when driving to just flash your high beams to change fogs to yellow or back to white. We'll see how long they last, but at about $65 not a big deal to me if I change again. I also left the lower air dam valences off, truck looks better without them and I'd prob damage them anyways. Cheers.
