GX550 Aftermarket Wheel & Tire Thread (4 Viewers)

dang i have 275/70r18 SL tires and my total average is 14.7 mpg and i dont drive too hard. my dash shows 250 miles when i fill but have 2-3 gallons left after click. I used to get 270 miles when i was at 15mpg.

i see people only get 200 miles per tank on 35s, how do you do get 300 🤯
MPGs seem to be all over the place with this vehicle, and none of it is impressive.

MrAce,

Not much help to you. But I’m using the O.Z Rally Desert, 18x8, +25. From Tire Rack / Discount Tire. Very high quality build, but not forged so it’s a lot heavier than most on the forums here would ever want; understandable. It’s a bit more heavy duty..which I’m good with for towing. I feel like I can beat on it with no worries. I’m using some NYTOP metal hub rings to ensure perfect mounting. Absolutely gorgeous wheel in person.

I strongly looked at many high end forged wheels, but couldn’t quite get a look I really wanted for the $$. So went this route. In the future I may relegate this to winter duty..we’ll see.
Nice wheels, it looks awesome!

Okay, okay....I filled up this morning, and the dash said 263miles to empty.

Sorry, as I mentioned, I really don't pay attention to MPG.

Do you have more pics of your set up I can see? I was planning to do the same with mine when I get my 2026. My wheel size is 18x9 +15 so I am hoping it would work with the c load 35 falkens and peaks 1.25 inch spacer

Question on Hub Centric Rings! I ordered Rays Volk Racing TE37XT wheels in 18"x8" +20mm offset. The wheel bore is 112mm and the GX hub bore is 95mm. I also have Rays lug nuts coming as well. For those of you that put wheels on with a larger hub bore did you run hub centric rings 112mm OD to 95.1mm. I'm worried about vibration. I know that the lug nuts will center the rim on the truck, that being said I'm $6500 deep on these 5 wheels and full kit so I am just checking if anyone else had issues. Thanks

I’m not running hubcentric rings on my TE37xt and don’t feel anything out of the ordinary. Luckily, it’s an easy fix if you put on the wheels and do feel any vibration…just purchase the rings and put them on then.

You need 106 mm to 95.1 mm, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BH3RB3TZ?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1. The rings fit inside the center caps. If you choose 112 mm then the center caps will not fit since they are the push through version.

I always run rings but to each their own

I’m using rings too, after initially going without. But I wasn’t sure all was perfect after 3 weeks or so, and after being talked out of them by one tire shop.
I went with the NYTOP rings for whatever reason..although more expensive. They went on perfectly snug. It takes a thin blade to help work them loose, which I carry in case of needing to mount my OEM spare.

The balance and smoothness seems perfect now, even at very high speeds.
