Interior Package Shelf (2 Viewers)

Hi, I decided to give one of the interior package shelf’s a try as a way to get all of the soft items out of the cargo net and keep my travel trout rod in the truck without it rolling around. Several different brands out there that all look appealing. In my case I decided to try the CA Tuned Off-Road shelf.

Well made, good finish, good hardware and all fit together well. I did have to chase the threads (1/4 - 20) on several of the press nuts.

I elected to use blue loctite on all of the bolts. I also elected to get the storage container shelf kit.

Interesting! One question- how much rear visibility is blocked by this? Thanks

Install was easy. It is tucked up high so the rear view sight line is clear.

I like how you can get that tote and have it hanging on those rails. Saw it on their product website.

Update, the tote option is ~30.5” maximum at the handles and ~28.5” for the tote body. My totes at home were too narrow to mount. Quick trip to Costco and one 27-gallon ‘Greenmade’ tote with slight modifications and I’m in business.

I did have to trim ~.2 inches from the handle area on both sides. See pictures.

The tote does, of course, block the rear view mirror sightline. I wish the OT came with the Lexus electronic mirror like our RX350h has.

I’ll be on the lookout for a 17-gallon tote that is compatible with the mount to complement the 27-gallon when i need a little less storage.

I will 2nd that wish. It would have been far more useful for me than, say, the HUD or Traffic Jam Assist.

In fact, if that electronic mirror could incorporate or switch over to a 2nd camera - like a Bluetooth cam on the back of my camping trailer - that would be immensely useful.
