Lexus Dealership Service Experience (1 Viewer)

Lexus of Concord (NorCal)

They fixed the squeaky brakes per the service bulletin which was nice. At first they wanted to charge me for 5 wheel rotation until I showed them in the manual that that was the only way they're supposed to be rotated.

When I got it back she said "we washed the truck and rotated the tires". Yes, apparently that's what they did, and in that order.

Wow. How could they return it to you like that and think it’s ok (if they took the time to “wash”)

Now that's freakin' hysterical!

Sterling McCall Lexus in Houston. Great service and communication, indoor climate controlled vehicle drop off / pickup, always plenty of loaner vehicles. I'd rather not have some rando minimum wage porter drive my truck if I can help it. Same with valets for that matter!

I'm finding communication and customer service below average with Sterling McCall SW. I get better service from Chick Fil A!

We plan to go to another dealership that's further from the house because of their service.

Sewell Lexus of Dallas. Just had my first service and it was a significantly better experience than my previous Porsche and BMW. That said, Sewell is famous for their client service during vehicle service so it wasn't surprising.
I had quite the opposite experience at this location. They held onto my vehicle for nearly a week just to diagnose issues with the AC cooling, ML sound system, and another minor hardware problem. I received no updates unless I reached out first, and the whole place felt chaotic. My experience with Porsche in Grapevine was far superior. After this underwhelming visit to Sewell Dallas, I’ll be seeking another Lexus dealer.

My Lexus dealer just gives the wink and ‘can’t duplicate the issue.’ So far compared to my BMW and Porsche dealer - Lexus is pretty pathetic even though I love the car.
Same experience. And Porsche is first class experience vs this one. But you pay for it.

yes - spending $125 for an oil change/filter is certainly better than $650. But down shifting at 100 and punching north of 140 certainly sounds better on the 911
Which 911 model do you have? I've been shopping use 911s and I can't decide if I want the last of the normally-aspirated 991s (991.1 thru 2016), or the newer (2017+) 991.2 turbocharged engine. I definitely want the updated interior from 2012/2013 onward. I have a 1998 Boxster that won't die but I've had my fill of the old interior style. My local Porsche mechanic said that the 991.2 and its turbos of course had the purists in an uproar but the secret is that you can get huge power out of the turbo engines compared to the normal sixes. There are also some great prices on 2017s and 2018s compared to the previous 991.1.

Mine is an older one - I have a 2006 Carrera 4S Cabriolet (997) that I bought new. In 19 years have only put 23K miles on it - so it lives under a cover. I've been searching for a low milage 997 GT3 RS; something with around 5k miles on it - they are out there but you have to hunt. While the new ones are going to be faster - the 991.1 and .2''s moved into the direction of heavier GT cars than sports cars and do not like all the screens/electronics.

Yes, I have seen plenty of discussion about how the 997 was the last truly analog experience. Every model jump gains some things and sacrifices some things. I do love the body style of the 997. I used to drive the hell out of my Boxster but I've probably only put about 1,000 miles on it over the past 3 or 4 years. It has 176,000 miles total. It's made to drive and enjoy but the reality of my life Monday - Friday is that I need a place for a cup of coffee and hands free bluetooth for the cell phone. I want some modern comforts and electronics in a 911 so that I'll drive it more often (and therefore drive the GX less). My two young boys can also come along in a 911 vs. the Boxster. I'm also going to get the PDK. Sacrilege, I know!

One thing that is nice if you have an older one - Porsche makes a stereo head to fit the older cars that gives you car play and blue tooth play. Mine has the high end Bose which I love - so I'll swap out the control unit for a new one made by Porsche and be good to go. Not having blue tooth sucks. My brother has a new Targa GTS that is a beast - but I really think the old days of a pure 911 are long over...
