VF Tuner ECU/TCU Tuning for the GX550 (1 Viewer)

We have a NICE update releasing for the GX550 along with our updated tune, we have implemented a fully new flashing protocol releasing soon that programs the ECU MUCH FASTER than before.
average flash time (before) 8-12 minutes
New protocol flash time : 45 seconds - 1.5 minutes.

Does this happen automatically once we update the VFtuner PC software?

Can you give a brief rundown on the tune updates?

Can’t wait. Thanks so much

Good Morning,

This updated tune (version 1.2 of our GX550 tune)
has the following updates:
  • High RPM airflow limits
  • Boost targets / load limiting
  • Significant update to target AFR and full boost AFR
  • Ignition efficiency adjustments
  • Completely redone transmission tune

NOTE, if your vehicle IS DUE for the TSB/Recall Reflash we highly recommend you have this service done FIRST.
Any updates on being able to use the VFTuners for Aussie cars @VF Tuner?

Yes thankfully the connector itself was found (in the same place as non Aussie) only difference is wiring, which we are investigating and hope to have a resolution soon

When you say TSB reflash …. Can you reference what reflash this is ?

The Lexus dealer can re-flash your transmission computer which typically calms down the jumpy shifts when slowly rolling to a stop. TSB stands for Technical Service Bulletin (or tall, sexy, and beautiful but that's not important right now).

Can I assume there are additional performance gains(whp/tq) made from this version 1.2 tune update over the original? Looking forward to getting the kit I ordered and hopefully running this updated tune right off the bat.

Thanks and very excited about this, I would think the reflash wouldn’t need a TSB but what do I know

Regarding tune updates.
Our updated tunes will be ready for release the weekend of the 22-25th.

If you would like to update please email us (if you haven't recently) our email system does not keep closed tickets after a certain period of time.
@VF Tuner Did the tunes get released? I opened up a support ticket but haven't gotten a response yet.

You can expect a modest bump in power at higher RPM yes, as boost is increased up top.
This all comes from the last several months of R/D we have been doing on this engine, so this update should be quite nice over the previous tune.

If you have not had your ECU updated via he dealer we do still recommend it.

All updates will roll out via email.

Would there be additional power gains with running the AFe intakes on this tune? I know there were initially some CEL type issues with those, but sounds like those were fixed with a part update on AFe's side.

We are FINALLY back in stock. All pending orders are going out the door.
Our custom fast flash loader is also complete, releasing this weekend.

A full run down of the tune update will be posted and emailed.

I do not know if we have any reports of the issues being resolved on a fix provided by AFE, so at the present time we would still say that the intakes and our tunes are not compatible / expect issues.
