Yet another Cool Box' solution

Nothing to purchase!!! As a long time etsy shop owner, create multiple listings with extended processing time for your custom orders!
Hey @jmercer46. I appreciate the tip, i'll try to dig in and see what my options are. One at a time and DM'ing for the wait list is certainly not ideal for people who want to try it out soon, i totally agree. But the very last thing I want to do is take an order that I can't end up fulfilling if my printer craps out or whatever. Or be late if i have to leave town for a couple days unexpectedly. I'd much much rather lose a dozen potential sales than screw up a real one.

This is actually a really convenient piece of kit. I haven't fully utilized it yet in only 1 day but I must say that the little hinged box is awesome. I also tested the cooler on a half hour mobilization to a job this morning and it made my chapstick ice cold. I'm going to test it with a beer, temperature taken out of the fridge, and temperature taken after about a half hour or 45 minutes in the cooler box.

Thanks Bill. And good call on the temp test. I've got about a 90 minute commute in the morning, and will plan on starting at room temp, and seeing where it ends up. As i said in the listing, my anecdotal sense is that the cooling works kind of meh, but easy enough to measure it. On the way home, i'll pull the caddy and repeat the test to see how much of the cooling is retained.

Well, worked better than i anticipated actually. 75 degree room temperature when I got in the car, 50 when I got to work. 90 minutes on the nuts.

Coming back I ran the same test from a slightly lower starting room temp of 71 with no obstruction of the vents and all my stuff just in there loose. Finished at 41 on a slightly longer return trip (maybe 10-15 minutes due to traffic).

So I had a 1/6th loss in cooling power when funneling the airflow through the spiral, at least in this set of conditions. Your mileage may vary

Love the scientific approach! Please report back with findings.

The first thing I put in my cool box was a pork ternderloin. My daughter thought it was pretty hysterical. My wife pointed out the little sticker that indicates you're not suposed to put fish or meat in there. Can't win - thanks Lexus.

I peeled the sticker off so we're all good with the mini meat locker.

I've been refreshing your Etsy page and it finally came available again...immediate purchase! Can't wait to get it.

I used it on my camping trip this past weekend. The cup holder piece is really convenient to hold pens, markers, tire pressure gauge, etc. When you want to drop in a can, you just pull out the cup holder piece and drop in the little foward door pocket. I have charging cables and a few misc. items in the little hinged box. A Brunton compass in one of the open holes and a Leatherman in the other. I grabbed a beer from my fridge and dropped it in the can spot. It was still ice cold when we arrived at the camp spot 2 hours later. When I was packing up the truck, one of my boys set a Kit Kat in the tray area forward of the arm rest for me as a little surprise once we got on the road. Of course it sat there for a couple hours while we were getting ready to go and turned into a bag of melted chocolate. I set it inside on the top of the console tray and it was nice and crispy cold an hour later.

I must remove my no meat & fish sticker!

P.S. I didn't measure the can temperatures this weekend because 2 young boys happened to lose my meat thermometer when they were taking the temperature of the pool last week!

I would like to buy one as well. I guess i'll just keep an eye on your etsy page
Thanks for the support all, and awesome to hear a first report of use in the field @Bluegill.

@Bluecollar707 (and anyone else that's interested), i'm keeping a waitlist as i pump these out as efficiently as I can. So if you're interested, feel free to DM me with your phone or email (click on my profile picture, then the little start conversation button for what appears to be the forum's version of a DM), and I'll add you.

Each time I finish one, I let the next person on my list know in advance of re-listing so they can be ready to snag it. Sometimes someone else gets lucky though ;).

For any remaining interested parties... I have a few in stock now and have notified all wait-list folks. If you decide you want one, hit up the etsy page. Thanks again for the intersest, i apprciate it.

Mike

How tight should this be? I slide it in and it goes about 2/3 of the way and gets fairly tight. I could force it but am worried about cracking the plastic.

Mine dropped in like butter. Make sure there's no grit or anything on the walls of your cool box.

I used the cooler again a few times over the past couple weeks. It works perfectly fine - I drop a can of high-octane Black Rifle cold coffee in there to keep me awake on long drives. These cans are a bit thinner and taller but you can still close the lid on the arm rest. The cooler keeps them ice cold even with the cool box product in there. You just grab the little can-shaped holder and move it over to the door pocket. Easy cheesy.

Hey FFTFK, there should be no resistance at all. It should slide in smooth and almost kinda suction in place when all the way down. I'll reach out directly to you and help figure out what's going on.

Lucked out & managed to grab the last one in stock. Can’t wait to try this out. Thanks for coming up with a solution to make good use of the space-wasting cool box!
