2026 OT Front clunking noise. (3 Viewers)

Mine still is a little noisy at times in Eco mode. Sport seems to significantly tighten things up. Normal and comfort are the noisiest. I've spent quite a bit of time underneath and can't see anything obviously loose. Might need a few things torqued. I'm holding off on getting it looked at for another 1K miles when it goes in for the first service. Hopefully enough people have complained for a TSB to be issued.

Same here. There is a semi rough paved road a couple of miles from my dealership that I will take them on a drive to experience what I have. In comfort or normal mode it’s obvious but in the other modes it’s somewhat better but still there. I certainly understand its not designed to be a luxurious ride and I’m good with that but it also shouldn’t feel like the front suspension needs tightened and flimsy going over bumps.

Chiming in as just another something to check if anyone hears a rattle going over bumps. For me it sounded like it was coming from the back, which it was, but saw someone else just post elsewhere they thought they heard it up front. Ended up being the jack in the hidden compartment in the back had come loose and was rattling. Luckily easy fix for mine.

Good advice. Mine does sound like it's coming from the front, but I'll give the jack a look to see just in case...

I haven't taken a look at the various fixes posted here yet but as I re-read them, it sounds like we're thinking just changing the driving mode eco/normal/sport will affect this clicking/clunking? Even if so, I'm not going to consider that a valid resolution, though it would indicate a likely cause and be helpful for the dealer to troubleshoot. But I'm not going to accept "don't drive in eco/normal" as a solution, no way no how, my user name be damned!

It does sound like we're dealing with at least a few different issues here though, right? At least some valid anecdotes to support a loose sway bar bracket and some KDSS shenanigans.

My '26 is better than my '24 in multiple meaningful ways, but this is the one way in which it is falling short. I'd very much like to get this resolved.

I finally setup an appointment to have mine looked at next Thursday and requested a master mechanic drive my vehicle with me to a location nearby that will clearly demonstrate the issue. I was going to wait until 1k miles but I’ve had enough. I feel that after all my research it has something to do with the KDSS and the sway bar. I have dozens of vehicles over the years including large SUVs, trucks, vans and several Lexus vehicles and not one of them ever felt like something was loose/clunking with the front suspension. I hope they can determine the cause and not say it’s normal. Will post my results when I find out.

very interested in what you have to report. Please advise.

An update on mine, basically the first shot at addressing it: I cranked the knob to sport and sport+ and don't really feel like there's a change in behavior. I have 1,000 miles on mine at this point, and it's really no more than a vague clunk, I'd bet money on it coming from the front end. Unfortunately, no better description at this point. Just a half step short of "loose."

Another bump to see if there was a resolution. I have an appointment for the 5k service May 7th and will get mine looked at then. Will post results.

I took it into the dealer last Friday and had one of the mechanics ride with me and he heard the clunking noise. Received a call later that day and one of the bolts was not torqued properly. I went on a test drive with him and it sounded some better but it was back the next day.

What I believe is that during the assembly process some of the bolts/nuts were not torqued property and will have the dealer check this.

I will be taking it back in and will report back once I get answers.

I have an appointment for this May 12 they did re torque the front end but no difference…. I feel like my first ride for the day is super clunky but after I get on a highway at 75 smooth as can be. Then later in the day after restarts or mode switching I feel like it corrects itself I can’t really tell and if that’s the case then it is the Adaptive suspension or the EKDSS
If anyone gets info before May 12 please post

Similar experience with my vehicle. I have tried every driving mode and no difference. It’s at the dealer now being looked at and hoping they come up with a solution but with all my research I am really beginning to believe its common trait with the Overtrail EKDSS. Some don’t notice it because their roads may be in better shape than midwest roads such as mine in Illinois where potholes are prominent. Will wait to see what the dealer finds or doesn’t and will report back

Sorry, this in incorrect. I put 20k on a '24 GX550 before I got my current ride and it absolutely did not do this. It's not the roads, it not a "body on frame thing," it's a distinct but subtle clunk that I notice every time i get in it and hit even a minor road imperfection. I hope the dealer doesn't give you a runaround, and please let us know what you hear.

Curious if your 24 was an Overtrail? I am fortunate to have a good dealer with an impressive service department. They are really making an effort to get this corrected for me. They hooked up some sort of sound listening devices and have isolated the clunk to the drivers side sway bar link. They have ordered the part and hopefully this will correct the issue. Not sure when it will arrive though because it didn’t sound like it was in stock.

Yes, 2024 OverTrail-. And yes, suspension-wise there are some differences but none of them should be making that sound or feeling loose in any way. Very interested to hear what your dealer finds--sounds like they're a good one.

Brand new 2026 OT+ here. I've got the exact same behaviour that you guys are describing.... Does anyone have been able to fix the issue at the dealership?

Spit ball - might check the bolts on the skid plate. Think there was a SB on my Sequoia w/ accy TRD skid plate.

Still nothing on mine but I still have low miles and I fear it might happen at some point.

Did you guys try to stick a GoPro under to record whats happening while driving?

New 2026 OT - I have the same clunking going over bumps at about 40kph. Varies with comfort settings and sometime random clunks going down freeways with no bumps. Keen to understand cure as this is not right for a brand new vehicle. Now with Dealer to diagnose and hopefully find a remedy

My dealer used listening devices and have isolated the sound. I am thinking of picking up a GoPro to record sound and movement. Is there a magnetic mount available for the GP?

yes, tons of options on amazon for a magnetic, clamp, suction mount...
