look at the previous page for recommendations on extended studs, and lug nuts that give you proper engagement. are you running hubrings? if you are not this could be the cause of vibrationGot my tires and wheels mounted so I can finally contribute to this thread.
Special thanks to everyone who posted their pics/specs before me...it helped me in figuring out my "ideal" wheel/tire spec
2025 Lux+ on Stock suspension
Volk TE37xt (Shadow Black)
17x8 +20
285/70/17 Toyo Open Country (SL)
Total Weight: ~65LBs vs. ~80lbs for 22" OEM Lux+ wheels
My takeaways:
- Fitment: No rubbing or trimming and in fact, it looks like I could've gone 285/75 but I've read folks start rubbing at that size (on stock, non-OT suspension)
- 17" wheel - This wheel barely cleared the front brake calipers so be careful on where the wheel weights are stuck on as there might not be enough tolerance to clear it.
- Noise/Vibration/Harshness: Definitely hear more "humming" while driving. Hoping it settles a little once the tire get more mileage. slightly more vibration but I feel there's a little less harshness and more "plush-feel" Will need to get more miles on it.
- Poke: I didn't want "that" much poke but it's ok. I think +30 offset is perfect but it even if Rays made that spec, it would have less "lip" on the TE37xt so I'm happy with the compromise. I also installed the front mud flap to limit the debris it will sling up.
- Definitely happy about the weight savings.
- Worth noting since there's a separate thread about this... I got about ~5 full turns on the Rays lug nuts. I measured the stock nuts and it was about 9 full turns so definitely less. I will keep an eye on it and re-tighten every few hundred miles.

Yeah I've read through it and decided not to run extended studs. I am running hub rings but the vibration is more of running AT tires vs HT tires. It's not bad vibration... more of "resonance"look at the previous page for recommendations on extended studs, and lug nuts that give you proper engagement. are you running hubrings? if you are not this could be the cause of vibration

In my opinion, going away from OEM will not improve your ride. Going to a bigger size is mainly for looks or for a specific application like offroading.Thinking of black rhinos 17” for my 25 OT+, what’s the largest tire would you recommend to give a noticeable ride improvement than the OEM Toyo’s .
I lost one of my OEM tires to a massive rapture on a road trip and looking to change the tires to something better and more reliable - the idea of the 17” is to get a bigger size . What would you recommend for the OEM wheels ? I do like how they look!In my opinion, going away from OEM will not improve your ride. If you're looking for ride improvement then going to a bigger size and probably a different load rating wouldn't yield such result.
I would take a look at this tire, Nitto Grappler G3 275/70R18 116T. Tire weight is within 6 lb of OEM but better built.I lost one of my OEM tires to a massive rapture on a road trip and looking to change the tires to something better and more reliable - the idea of the 17” is to get a bigger size . I can 2nd that.I would take a look at this tire, Nitto Grappler G3 275/70R18 116T. Tire weight is within 6 lb of OEM but better built.
Just checked the photos you posted of them , they look pretty good. How are they in wet conditions?I can 2nd that.
As soon as I put that exact tire and size (Nitto Terra Grappler G3, SL rating) on and drove off, it was night and day. Mine have been on 6 months now, zero issues.
Just wished they came in 34 sizeI can 2nd that.

That's why I'm leaning towards the BFG KO3's - 285/70 18Just wished they came in 34 size
So I have had only a few instances of heavy rain, and a small number of snowy roads since early March.Just checked the photos you posted of them , they look pretty good. How are they in wet conditions?
yes but K03s are E rated and weigh significantly moreThat's why I'm leaning towards the BFG KO3's - 285/70 18
how is the G3 noise compared to stock? i hear they are kind of loudSo I have had only a few instances of heavy rain, and a small number of snowy roads since early March.
I don’t think they will have any problems with consistently wet roads. The tread compound, siping and 3PMSF rating should help on wet roads. Again, mine are the Nitto TG G3, 275/70R18 SL mounted on the OE Overtrail wheels.
I’ll be removing the entire wheel set next week. Replacing with 285/70R18 (33.7) ties and new wheels next week. But only because of towing safety and offroad reliability.
No, they have not been loud at all for me. Again, it’s an SL version of this tire; and it’s oriented, balanced a bit more to highway use. That’s the conclusion I came to from Nitto website and Tire Rack. They do make it in LT E versions, those are likely more loud.how is the G3 noise compared to stock? i hear they are kind of loud
thanks i really like this tire. not sure it is enough gain to both in height and width over stock to upgrade now vs waiting for the stock toyos to wear and do it.No, they have not been loud at all for me. Wondering if you have had good luck with your Rally Raids thus far?O.Z. Rally Raid, 18x8.5 +35
Falken AT4W, 285/70/18, C load
No lift and no rub after removing the small covers in the wheel well behind tire.
