VF Tuner ECU/TCU Tuning for the GX550 (2 Viewers)

I’m here with my pail of popcorn and check book patiently waiting for the drop!!

Can’t wait for VF

they've stopped responding to my emails after they promised they'd look into how they'd make the VF tuner work for cars in australia since it can't be tuned via the same CAN connector location as the US ): this is poor form

No, it is still on our active work list. Being unable to access australian tech docs directly has made this a challenge.

I bought my VFTune a month ago and still haven’t installed it yet. Anyone who has it installed for a while have longer-term feedback, good and bad? I’m still planning on tuning once my schedule slows down with a free weekend, but I am just curious since this thread has been quieter recently.

I've been running mine for over 7k miles. No issues at all. Fuel economy is better and power is effortless. Have been to the dealership for oil changes and rotations and no issues.

I've got about 4k miles on mine. Nothing but smiles from me. Set it and forget it. The initial install and programming was a bit nerve-wracking, though. Been to the dealership for 10k service and brake TSB with no issues. Used the 91 tune with the transmission tune and have had no issues with lag or harsh shifting (up or down).

Thank you both for the update!

So this tune fixed that transmission clunk for you?

The clunk hasn't come back, but it's inconclusive to say that VF tuner fixed it since it was fixed prior to tuning it by disconnecting the battery.

I wish, but unfortunately not yet.

Although we are working on E85 / flex. but that is something new.

That’s exciting - will it be a true scaling flex solution with a ETOH sensor (such that the tune adjusts with higher or lower ETOH content)? What’s the probable ceiling for ETOH - is it the small turbos?

Staying “tuned”!

VF Tuner, do we (the VF-tuned GX550s) have any conflict here or potential issue with the upcoming TSB for the harsh coming-to-a-stop-downshift issue? I ask because the TSB calls for flash reprogramming the ECM (PCM). The current TSB is attached. Thanks!

This is actually GOOD!.
Once someone gets this TSB done, if they can read their ECU, we can make updated tunes for it and we can update everyone who wants to this TSB version calibration and they won't even have to go to the dealership.
