SQUEAKY BRAKES

Do we know what is being replaced when they do fix it, pads, caliper, pad spring, dust shield? I'll consider get it done and plan to wait it out.

Very helpful. Looks likes rotors included in that. I made a copy to ref the TSB when I get a chance to bring it in.

Realistically, that was my only real gripe. They fixed the passenger massage seats back in October. The flutter of the hood is there luckily I don’t see it when I driver her car. The brakes were all that ate my wife and me alive. The ML system still sucks for back passengers, but if we have somebody in the back, we probably won’t turn up the volume very loud or if my kid is in the back he’s gonna have AirPods on anyway, so we can live without it. Does suck to pay for the upgrade and have it sound like that back there. Luckily it sounds good upfront

Called dealership this morning to see if our parts were in for the brake TSB. Was told they are now 11 months out. All Tundras are getting them first then the GX and LX. Will be pads and rotors all the way around when they do come in. Fortunately ours only do it following a wash or rain/humidity and usually only for the first time we back up out of driveway, then not a bit after until it rains again so we're not too tore up about it, just a little surprised in the delay.

Anyone get any pushback if their GX is modified? I have my westcott kit, wheel and tires ready to install but thinking I should wait to get the brakes fixed first to avoid and dealer hesitation.

No pushback at all. Everyone at the dealership loved the modified GX. I've had my first oil change, squeaky brakes, and hood flutter serviced under warranty with the full Westcott treatment.

Getting new brakes today.

Was about a 2 month wait for parts to arrive.

If your brakes squeal - get on the list - it may take a while.

My brakes were finally fixed. 5 months or so wait.

I got so used to the brake noise that now that it is gone I think something is wrong at times when coming to a stop. 😂

My 2025 has been silent for the first 1,000 or so miles. While I was in the garage the other day my wife backed out of the driveway and I heard a hint of the squeal.

But the truck had been soaked overnight (so the rotors had definitely gotten wet), and the squealing stoped before she got to the end of the driveway. It's been silent again ever since. Phew.

I'm betting that Toyota has this problem sorted and you'll all will be happy when you get the service done!

Mine started just before 5,000 miles. Mainly backing out in the morning going to work. If it does happen it’s good to know Lexus will fix it no charge. The tech found excessive free play between rotors and pads causing the squeaking. The whole kit consists of rotors, pads, shim kit, fitting kit, and brake caliper grease
