I had a positive attitude in the beginning when I found out my car will need a new engine. I am now being told by the dealership they are waiting on Lexus about sending the new motor They have had my car going on 1 Month but they are still waiting. I am so upset. I I feel @ this point that I will get rid of it when and if they repair it and although I have been a loyal Lexus owner for 15+ years, I am seriously thinking of changing to another make.

Sorry to hear. If you like the GX, one option to maybe consider is seeing if Lexus will work with the dealer to let you trade for a brand new one.

And I very briefly looked at the Armada and while it actually seems pretty capable, I can't get past paying that much for a Nissan combined with knowing the value is going to drop like a rock.

Agreed. I kind of like the Armada, but it's equally tough springing for a vehicle where the company may not even exist in the US in the next decade.

Besides looking at a newer GX, if available at all, I would probably just get a previous gen Landcruiser or LX570 if this were to happen to me. I don't really find anything that appealing these days when it comes to the body on frame SUVs on the new market.
