I'm betting folks would be surprised at how many new aluminum hoods have more play in them at highway speed.
Just drove my 2022 Power Wagon 1551 miles back home to PA from TX. If I paid attention to the hood instead of the road and the unreal amount of holiday travelers I could definitely see movement/flutter. It's pretty much a gigantic brick shaped locomotive going down the road so I would expect some movement. I mean, there is a seam/ridge at front of hood, I'm doing 84mph and drafting semi-trucks like Cole Trickle.. Expecting the aerodynamics of a vehicle to perfectly handle air movement at constantly varying velocities and direction is asking a lot from anything but a race car. My 2015 Ram 2500 did it just the same. Also saw it with our Grand Cherokee Summit. We saw it slightly on the GX550 we test drove but it didn't degrade the smile on our faces. Our JKU has no flutter that I am aware of but that could be hidden by the rest of the vehicle riding like an amish buggy with more noise and shakes than your body process. End of the day if a hood flutter changes your mind on buying a GX, or dissappoints you in the "quality" of the vehilce, then you're not buying the GX for the same reason we are. AND THAT IS YOUR CHOICE AND PERFECTLY OK (sorry for yelling but wanted to be clear on that).
As for our allocation, I talked with our salesman again yesterday and our OT is still "processing" but no longer in hold. All after he told us on 6/21 "it's on it's way".

(On the list in 2023, 4/30 port arrival, 5/17 hold, 6/21 release from hold, zero movement in system throughout since April)
Is what it is at this point. We're buying our OT to use it as intended; getting comfortably to places and trails that less capable vehicles only see on YouTube. Betting it shows up at our dealership unannounced just as this hurricane "hangs a Ralph" and b-lines for Houston. Whenever it is, we'll be smiling and enjoy everything the 550 brings to the table.
